While working at a bar in Beverly Hills he received advice from veteran movie star Sylvester Stallone, "Create your own opportunities". That stuck with him, while working as an assistant on the 20th Century Fox lot, Arevalo met director Robert Rodriguez (El Mariachi) who he struck up a friendship with, then was offered the unforgettable role of the Opponent, the guy with the broken leg in the 1995 blockbuster film Desperado. Chad Stahelski the director of the John Wick series was one of Arevalo's martial arts instructors of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do martial art under Guro Dan Inosanto at Inosanto Academy. Arevalo is a 1st Degree Black Belt in Machado Brazilian Jiujitsu.
Arevalo has been writing and directing his own projects including performing with his comedy rap group The Baking Soda Mob. While growing up on both sides of the border Arevalo experienced the best of both worlds and developed a knowledge that would serve to target his own culture in the years to come. This being telenovelas, (Mexican Soap Operas), Classic Films, Mariachi's, Palenque's, music, food and Mexican wrestling. As a filmmaker, Arevalo established in 2002 his own Latino distribution company. The focus was to make an impact in the domestic home video market targeting Latinos and Mexican immigrants. Arevalo was responsible for acquiring the rights to valuable pop culture icons such as "Cantinflas" and "El Santo". Most of these films were just collecting dust. until they finally saw the light of day.
